Unearthing Centuries-Old Verses in Tandooreh National Park

Scientists and researchers have recently discovered an ancient tree estimated to be over 4,000 years old in Tandooreh National Park, Iran. This discovery is significant as it is the oldest tree in the country and was found in the mountainous region of the park. The tree’s ability to survive for so long is believed to be due to the unique climate and soil conditions of the area. This discovery emphasizes the importance of preserving natural habitats and further research into the natural world.

The creatures typically encountered in this altitude comprise the kri-kri or Cretan wild goat, agathopontikas, fourokatos or wild cats, and avian species like the golden eagle and the elusive bearded vulture.

The Chania region is renowned for its exceptional herbs, with dittany (or eronda) being the most well-known. The arrival of spring brings with it an abundance of wildflowers and the countryside becomes a stunning sight to behold. The local wildlife also appears to be in high spirits during this time of year. Exploring the natural beauty of this region is an unforgettable adventure that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
