Shakira’s Gratitude: Winning Big at the 2023 Billboards and Celebrating in Style

The 30th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards 2023 took place at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Miami, Florida (United States). Shakira had 12 nominations, making her one of the favorites. She was a finalist for various categories, including “Hot Latin Songs” Artist of the Year, Female, and “Latin Pop” Artist of the Year, Solo. Her song “TQG” earned her five nominations. Additionally, she was nominated for Song of the Year, Latin Air Play for “Monotonía,” and Latin Pop Song of the Year for “BZRP music sessions, vol 53” with Bizarrap. The latter song was also competing for the Song of the Year, Sales award. The Colombian singer’s fans were eagerly waiting to find out how many trophies she would take home.

Shakira has achieved extraordinary success as a Latin artist, earning numerous accolades and setting streaming records for her music on multiple platforms. Her contributions to the music industry are unparalleled, with a total of 41 Billboard awards, including 36 Billboard Latin Music Awards and 7 Billboard Music Awards. Her music has gained such immense popularity that she has been nominated in a whopping 12 categories in the upcoming 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards. This makes her one of the most nominated artists, with only Peso Pluma leading the pack with 21 nominations, followed by Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera with 15 nominations, and Karol G with 13 nominations. Despite stiff competition, the Colombian singer managed to clinch two awards – Latin Pop Artist of the Year, Soloist, and “Latin Pop” Song of the Year for her contribution to “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”

It’s important to note that the 2023 Billboard Awards were officially aired by Telemundo and Telemundo Internacional for Latin America and the Caribbean, and could also be viewed on the Universo cable channel and Peacock at the same time.

During an interview on October 4th as part of the Billboard Latin Music Week 2023 at the Faena Forum, Shakira discussed various topics, including her current mental state, creative process, her past accomplishments as one of Billboard’s most successful artists, as well as what she has planned for the future.
