Shakira Dominates Latin Pop Airplay Chart with Historic Top 3 Spots

She achieved a remarkable feat that had never been accomplished before in the list’s almost three-decade-long existence by scoring a triple.

It’s official – Shakira has made history by accomplishing a new feat. She has become the first artist to claim the top three spots on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart within a single week. As of July 29, her collaboration with Karol G, “TQG,” is holding strong at No. 1 for an impressive 10th week. Additionally, Shakira’s own song “Acróstico” has returned to its best rank at No. 2, while her latest single “Copa Vacía” with Manuel Turizo has soared to a new high, advancing from No. 4 to No. 3. Congratulations to the Colombian superstar on this incredible achievement!

The Latin Pop Airplay chart has been recording weekly audience impressions from a group of over 150 Latin formatted U.S. radio stations since 1994. Mediabase, which provides Luminate data for Billboard charts, monitors this. The latest tracking week that ended on July 20 showed a 7% decrease in “TQG” audience impressions to 8.6 million. However, the song’s ten-week reign at No.1 makes it the second-longest running song of 2023 so far. The record is held by Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” which topped the chart for 12 weeks starting in February and still holds on at No.7.

The songs “Acróstico” and “Copa Vacía” have risen to the second and third spots on the charts, respectively, with increasing radio airplay. “Acróstico” takes second place with a 2% increase in audience impressions, reaching 5.7 million, while “Copa” rises significantly with a 33% boost to 5.4 million, earning it the title of Greatest Gainer for the week.
It’s worth noting that Shakira, along with 16 other artists, has previously held the top two positions on Latin Pop Airplay at the same time. The complete list includes Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny, Camilo, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Juan Luis Guerra 440, Enrique Iglesias, J Balvin, Juanes, Karol G, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Ozuna, Pitbull, Shakira, and Tainy.
